When a community comes together with compassion and purpose, change stops being an idea and becomes a reality.

Visionary Goals

At GMT, our vision is:

  • To create a cohesive community where every individual can thrive.
  • We believe in the power of togetherness and mutual support and to deliver meaningful social value that strengthens communities, supports local people, enhances wellbeing, and leaves the community better connected, more inclusive, and more resilient for future generations.

Empowering the Community

We are dedicated to providing local residents with opportunities and pathways for employment and education. Our partnerships enhance skills training and lifelong learning.

We strive to remove barriers and ensure our services are accessible to everyone, including:

  • Neurodivergent and disabled  individuals.
  • Young people with additional learning or sensory needs.
  • Those who may face social or economic barriers.

We proudly support initiatives that promote visibility, understanding, and acceptance across the nation.

Our Environment and Sustainability Goals

We are committed to sustainability across all our initiatives. Our wider sustainability goal is to protect the environment while supporting the community's needs.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact by:

  • Minimising waste and improving recycling practices.
  • Reducing carbon emissions across our operations.
  • Supporting the region’s ambition for a carbon‑neutral future.
  • Making responsible procurement choices.
  • Promoting green solutions wherever possible.

Health, Wellbeing & Support

We believe well-being is essential to a thriving community. That’s why we invest in:

  • Health and well-being support for our team.
  • Safe, supportive, and inclusive work environments.
  • Community wellbeing projects.
  • Initiatives that promote mental health awareness.
  • Sensory‑friendly solutions such as sensory pods, which help young people self‑regulate and find calm when needed.

No one should feel excluded or unsupported and we are proud to champion solutions that make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

Working with us

Social value is a shared responsibility. We work collaboratively with local partners, clients, and communities to maximise our social impact and ensure GMT remains a trusted and responsible organisation across Greater Manchester.

If you would like to work with us, collaborate on community projects, or learn more about our social value commitments, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Social Value Goals

 By 2030, GMT aims to:

  • Increase our local employment rate by at least 20%.
  • Ensure 50% of our supply chain comes from the local community.
  • Reduce operational emissions year‑on‑year in line with our carbon reduction plan.
  • Expand community partnerships across all 10 GM boroughs.
  • Strengthen our work in the voluntary care sector by building community partnerships that support wellbeing and create lasting social impact.
  • Continue improving accessibility, inclusiveness, and diversity across our organisation.

We will track, measure, and publish our progress to remain transparent and accountable.

Ethical practice is at the heart of everything we do at GMT. We are committed to delivering support with integrity, transparency, and respect, ensuring that every individual and family we work with is treated with dignity and fairness.

Our approach is grounded in safeguarding, human rights, and evidence‑based, trauma-informed practice, ensuring we create environments where people feel safe, valued, and empowered.

We uphold ethical practice by:

  • Prioritising the rights, voices, and experiences of children, young people, and families in every decision we make.

  • Maintaining the highest safeguarding standards, ensuring safety, protection, and appropriate support at all times.

  • Using transparent processes, including clear communication, honest expectations, and accessible information.

  • Embedding informed consent, making sure individuals understand their options and are involved in shaping their own support.

  • Ensuring confidentiality and data protection, respecting privacy and handling information with care and responsibility.

  • Applying evidence‑based, trauma‑informed approaches, ensuring support is ethical, compassionate, and aligned with best practice.

  • Holding ourselves accountable, regularly reviewing our work, listening to feedback, and making improvements where needed.

  • Challenging inequity and discrimination, advocating for fairness and equal access across all systems and services.

Ethical practice is a commitment to doing what is right, fair, and in the best interests of the individuals and communities we support.
